Purdy Leads Rangers to Commanding 64-38 Victory over Hawks
The Rangers garnered a 64-38 victory over the Hawks of Rockhurst University in the Catholic Collegiate Invitational on Saturday, October 19th. The women were 44.9 in total shooting in the field, 40.0 from long distance alone.
Forward Tae'lor Purdy led the Rangers with 18 points and 10 total rebounds. She had two steals on the night as well as putting down two of her three three-point attempts.
Center Kari Ameling put up eight points for the Rangers and grabbed herself five rebounds on the night. Forward Sarah Feeney collected seven rebounds for the women while guard Meghan Hollenga snabbed six of her own along with two assists.
The Rangers had a surge of energy in the second half as they kept the Hawks to 17.1 from the field as a whole. The women's 52.4 from the field was enough to bring home the win.
The Rangers advance their record to 1-3 and will face Barry University in the Regis/Colorado Mines Thanksgiving Classic at 1:00 PM. The game will take place on Friday, November 25th.
