Larson Named Academic All-Jesuit Honorable Mention
Regis University women’s basketball player Kara Larson earned Academic All-Jesuit Honors this past week by the Association of Jesuit Colleges & Universities (AJCU) for her efforts on and off the court during the 2011-12 season.

Three Women’s Basektball Rangers Named to All-RMAC Teams; Purdy to First
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.: The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference welcomed three women’s basketball Rangers onto the All-RMAC teams. Sophomore Tae’lor Purdy was named to the first team, while senior Kari Ameling and sophomore Brandi Collins were named a third team selection.

Regis Women Send Seniors out in Style with 81-72 Win
Denver, Colo.: (By Dylan Docker) Seniors Kari Ameling and Bri Simbeck took the Regis Fieldhouse court for the last time Saturday night against Chadron State. Following a pre-game ceremony honoring the two seniors, the Rangers (10-15, 8-11 RMAC) took care of business with an 81-72 win over the Eagles (8-15, 8-11 RMAC).

Rangers Can’t Hold Off Cougars in Thriller, Fall 76-74
Denver, Colo.: (By Dylan Docker) The Regis women took a tough loss Monday night to the Cougars of Colorado Christian University. The Cougars (11-12, 9-8 RMAC) picked up the 76-74 win at the Regis Field House, taking the Rangers (9-14, 7-10 RMAC) to the brink before pulling out the win in the final seconds.

Denver, Colo.: The Regis women put in a gritty performance Saturday night against the Colorado School of Mines, but the Orediggers (8-14, 7-9 RMAC) rallied to defeat the Rangers (8-14, 6-10 RMAC) by a final score of 76-71 at the Regis Field House.

Snow Storm Rearranges Weekend Basketball Schedule
Denver, Colo.: With more than a foot of snow in the Denver Metro area, the Regis University basketball game schedule has changed. There will be no games Friday night. The men will play Colorado Mines on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. with the women's game to follow at 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 6th will be the date for the Regis-Colorado Christian games with the men playing at 5:00 and the women at 7:00 p.m.

Denver, Colo.: The Ranger women’s basketball program took on the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks Saturday night in the Regis Field House. The Skyhawks stand at #4 in the nation and #1 in the RMAC Conference, and the team demonstrated their skill on the hardwood tonight as they bested the Regis team 69-55.

Close RMAC Game Results in 70-64 Loss for Women’s Basketball
Denver, Colo.: The Rangers took on the #3 ranked Roadrunners of Metro State Saturday, falling just short in the game 70-64. The game was neck and neck throughout, both teams putting up good numbers. The Rangers hit on 40.0% from the field, and outperformed the Roadrunners with 41.2% from long distance and 81.3% from the charity stripe. Off the bench, the Rangers put in 23 points on the night.

As this was the first RMAC Conference contest for the women in the 2011-12 season, the women came out strong, intent on increasing their record to 3-4 overall and 1-0 in the RMAC.

Saint Paul, Minn.: The Ranger women’s basketball team (0-1) took on the Golden Bears of Concordia-St. Paul (1-0) Friday, in a season opening in region match up. Forwards Sarah Feeney and Tae’lor Purdy and center Kari Ameling each put up a team high 11 points, but the Rangers could not close the 25 point gap from the first half. The Bears finished the game 72-45 over the Rangers.

Former Ranger Lauren Luebbe Earns 2011 NCAA Woman of the Year Conference Nominee
Former Regis University women's basketball student-athlete Lauren Luebbe today was honored as one of the 30 finalists for the NCAA Division II Woman of the Year award. Luebbe represents the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and is its only representative amongst the 140 female honorees across all three NCAA divisions.
