Ranger Women's Basketball Once Again Ranks in the WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll
For the 12th time in the 14 years of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll, the Rangers were honored. Regis had the 23rd highest grade point average in NCAA Division II with a 3.451.

The Regis University Board of Trustees announced Father John P. Fitzgibbons, S.J., as the 24th president of Regis University. He will take office June 1, 2012. Dick Kelly, chair of the Regis University Board of Trustees, made the announcement.

Regis University Women's Basketball Coach Linda Raunig recently announced the signing of four student-athletes during the spring signing period. Miranda Martine, Nicole Brzeczek and Sarah Feeney will all be juniors in 2011-12, while LaShai Powells will be a freshman.

Senior Lauren Luebbe earned yet another postseason academic award by being named to six-person Jesuit Women's Basketball All-Academic First Team. Luebbe earns the award from the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU).

Five Rangers Bid Adieu in Final Game of Season
Saturday night, Regis hosted Metro State in the Rangers' final game of the season. While it was the final game of the season for the team, it was the end of a career for five seniors who played in their final collegiate game. Regis fell in the game 57-39 to the regular season RMAC champion Roadrunners.

The Regis Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is offering an all-you-can-eat pasta buffet Saturday, Feb. 26th, at the home finales for both men's and women's basketball. Also the Rangers senior night, the buffet starts at 6:00 p.m. The first 75 Regis students will get a ticket to eat for free.

After succumbing to New Mexico Highlands on Friday, 59-56, the Rangers blew through Western New Mexico on Saturday as they grabbed an 87-65 victory over the Mustangs at home.

Rangers Fall by Three to New Mexico Highlands
After splitting last week in Nebraska against Nebraska-Kearney (L, 80-56) and Chadron State (W, 80-75 in OT), Regis hosted New Mexico Highlands on Friday and fell by three (59-56). Three Rangers tallied double digit points for Regis with Meagan Nickell leading the way with 15 points.

Rangers Drop Second Straight with 80-56 Loss to Nebraska-Kearney
In Kearney, Neb. on Friday, the Rangers grabbed the first lead of the game against the Lopers which ended up being the only lead they obtained during the night. While Salina Kuiper and Meagan Nickell scored 13 and 12 points respectively, Regis fell 80-56 in the match.

Rangers Win in Overtime; Vader Scores 26 Points
Coming off of a two game slide, the Rangers snagged an overtime victory, 80-75, over the Chadron State Eagles in Chadron on Saturday. Kaitie Vader helped lead the way for Regis as she totaled a career high 26 points and pulled down seven boards.

Second Consecutive Overtime not so Generous to the Rangers
After grabbing a 72-71 overtime victory over Colorado Mines on Friday, Regis fell in overtime, 73-68, to Colorado Christian on Saturday at Christian. After grabbing the first lead of the game, the Rangers trailed for the remainder of play with the exception of a one-point lead that started the overtime period.

After dropping five straight games, the Rangers snagged a one point overtime victory over Colorado Mines in Golden on Friday. The score was tied 12 times before Regis walked away with the victory.

Lauren Luebbe Named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team
Senior forward Lauren Luebbe was named to the Capital One Academic All-District team the conference announced Wednesday. Luebbe, from Rochester, Minn., holds a 3.98 in Nursing and was among two players in the RMAC to receive such honors.

Rangers Drop Fifth Straight with 71-59 Loss to Western State
On Saturday at the Regis Fieldhouse, a 23-1 Mountaineer run led to a fifth consecutive loss for the Rangers and a 71-59 victory for Western State. Three Rangers led the team in scoring headed by Salina Kuiper with 13 points. Meagan Nickell and Kaitie Vader followed with 12 and eight points respectively. Vader also pulled down eight rebounds on the night.

A double-double by senior Salina Kuiper helped push the Rangers into overtime as they hosted the Mesa State Mavericks on Saturday. However, Regis was unable to gain a lead in the overtime period leading to a Maverick victory, 81-75.

Unable to Overcome First Half Deficit Rangers Succumb 77-50 to Fort Lewis
During the first half of Regis' matchup with Fort Lewis, the Rangers dug themselves a 20 point deficit that they were unable to overcome, leading to a 77-50 loss to the Skyhawks in Durango on Saturday. Two Rangers, Meagan Nickell and Lauren Luebbe, led the team in scoring with 15 and ten points respectively.

On Saturday, Jan. 15th, the Regis women's basketball team hosted a clinic for the Special Olympics Colorado prior to their matchup with the Colorado State Pueblo Thunderwolves. There were over 30 participants in the camp.

The Rangers fought a battle to the end as they hosted Colorado School of Mines on Saturday. A Tory Langas paint shot rolled perfect for Mines as it fell through the net as the buzzer sounded to lift the Orediggers one point above Regis, 58-57, for the victory.

Chelsea Porter's 19 points weren't enough for the Rangers as they recorded 35 total turnovers to fall 75-61 to Colorado Christian at home on Friday. Porter, along with three other Rangers, recorded nine boards in the game and was 2-for-4 from long range.

Rangers Fall for Second Time in RMAC Play with 68-62 Loss to Mesa State
For the second time in RMAC play this season, the Rangers recorded a loss. On Monday, Regis traveled to Grand Junction to take on the Mavericks of Mesa State. Unfortunately, the Rangers' momentum from their three-point victory (76-73) on Sunday against Western State did not follow them to MSC.

Rangers Jump Ahead of Western State with 23 Seconds Remaining to Grab 76-73 Victory
Up until 23 seconds remained in the game, it looked as though Regis was going to drop their second RMAC game of the season to the Western State Mountaineers in Gunnison on Sunday. However, Lauren Luebbe sank a three-pointer at this mark to put the Rangers up by one. Two free throw's by Erin O'Toole followed which put Regis up by three for a 76-73 Ranger victory.

On Saturday, the Rangers fell for the first time in five games as they dropped their first RMAC game of the season to Metro State, 67-57, at Metro. Two Rangers tallied double digits, Salina Kuiper (11) and Lauren Luebbe (10), but it wasn't enough for Regis.

Rangers Pull Down 51 Boards to Grab 74-61 Victory over Chadron State
Along with pulling down 51 boards against Chadron State, the Rangers grabbed a 13 point victory, 74-61, over the Eagles as they hosted CSC on Friday. Leading the team in rebounds was 5-6 guard Kaitie Vader who snagged ten followed by Kari Ameling with nine. As Ameling helped lead Regis with boards she also totaled for 20 points on the night. Salina Kuiper followed with 11.

Senior forward Lauren Luebbe was named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week the conference announced Monday. Luebbe is averaging 10.8 points per game, and 5.3 rebounds per game, 20 of 32 of which have been defensive.

For the second time in as many games, Regis grabbed a victory to start off conference play 2-0. After defeating Western New Mexico 69-57 on Friday, the Rangers traveled to Las Vegas, N.M. to face the Cowgirls where Kari Ameling led the team to a 77-68 victory with 19 points.
