Regis Women's Basketball Inks Three More for 2010-11
Denver, Colo.: Regis Head Women's Basketball Coach Linda Raunig announced the signings of three more student-athletes for the 2010-11 season. Brandi Collins, Kari Ameling and Kendahl Avery will all suit up for the Rangers next season.
Collins helped lead Mesa Ridge HS in Colorado Springs, Colo. to the Colorado Class 4A State Tournament this past season. The 5-4 point guard averaged 9.2 points and 5.7 assists per game while tallying almost two steals per contest. Collins tallied a season-high 13 assists last season against Harrison High School.
Originally from Greeley, Colo., Ameling spent the last two seasons at Otero Junior College in LaJunta, Colo. Ameling, a 5-11 post, finished her two-year career as the fourth all-time leading scorer in OJC history with 820 points. She was named Region IX All-Tournament Team and All-Region IX both her freshman and sophomore seasons.
Avery spent the last two seasons on the court at Sheridan CC in Sheridan, Wyo. The Laramie, Wyo. native averaged 8.7 points and five rebounds per game as a freshman while as a sophomore she helped her team to the NJCAA Region IX Championship. Avery put in 8.6 points per game while grabbing nearly seven rebounds per contest in her final season.
"We are looking forward to seeing what these outstanding student-athletes can do on the court," states head coach Linda Raunig. "They are outstanding students as well and will help the depth of our team."
