Women's Basketball Places 7th in WBCA Academic Honor Roll
For the ninth time in the last 13 years the Regis University women's basketball team has landed in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25. The Rangers finished seventh overall in NCAA Division II with a 3.534 grade point average.

Regis Women's Basketball Inks Three More for 2010-11
Regis Head Women's Basketball Coach Linda Raunig announced the signings of three more student-athletes for the 2010-11 season. Brandi Collins, Kari Ameling and Kendahl Avery will all suit up for the Rangers next season.

Associate Athletic Director Ann Martin Tabbed as Next Regis Athletic Director
Regis University President Fr. Michael Sheeran, S.J. announced the hiring of Ann Martin as the next director of athletics. Martin replaces longtime Regis Athletic Director Barbara Schroeder who will be retiring in June. Martin has been on the Regis athletic administration staff since 2005.

Two Ranger Women Receive Sportswomen of Colorado Honors
Two Regis women athletes received Sportswomen of Colorado honors for their performances last season and years past. Alisa Heronema, junior softball player, was named the Sportswomen of Colorado for her performance on the diamond last season. Diana Lopez was inducted into the Sportswomen Hall of Fame for receiving three awards in basketball since 2006.

Purdy Receives Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-RMAC East Division Honors
Leading the Rangers with 14.7 points and 6.7 boards per game, Tae'lor Purdy received RMAC Freshman of the Year honors, as voted on by the 14 RMAC head coaches Wednesday. Purdy was also named to the Second Team All-RMAC East Division.

Ranger Seniors Emily Kuipers and Ashley Pope Bid Adieu with a 78-67 Victory Over UCCS
After a nine game slide, Regis Seniors Emily Kuipers and Ashley Pope said goodbye to the Regis Fieldhouse and their collegiate careers with a 78-67 victory over the UCCS Mountain Lions. Salina Kuiper poured in 20 points while Kuipers tallied 15.

Rangers Score Just 41 in Loss to Metro; Kuiper Breaks Regis Blocking Record
As the Rangers fell 70-41 to Metro State on Tuesday, they scored the lowest total points for a Regis women's team in nearly six years. On Dec. 31, 2004, Regis also scored 41 points against Loyola. Chelsea Porter led the Rangers with eight points against the Roadrunners while Tae'lor Purdy scored seven.

Porter Scores 26 in Rangers 78-76 Loss to Chadron State
Chelsea Porter recorded a double-double Saturday as she scored 26 points and grabbed 11 boards as Regis' battle with Chadron State ended in a 78-76 loss to the Eagles. In total, the Rangers had the lead for just over 32 minutes of play but eventually fell to Chadron State at home.

Rangers End of Game Comeback Falls Short Against the Lopers; Purdy Breaks Freshman Scoring Record
Just two minutes into Regis' matchup against Nebraska-Kearney on Friday, Tae'lor Purdy set a new Regis record as she became the highest scoring freshman in women's basketball history. Prior to Friday night, Purdy was one point shy of Denise Durant's record of 350 points which she scored during the 1979-80 season. Purdy has now scored 367 points so far this season.

Tae'lor Purdy scored 20 points Saturday night but it wasn't enough as the Rangers fell for the second time this weekend to Colorado Christian 87-69 on the road. Behind Purdy in scoring was Emily Kuipers and Chelsea Porter who scored 12 points each.

Freshman Kaitie Vader scored in double digits for the first time in her career on Friday as she scored 12 points in Regis' 69-52 loss to Colorado School of Mines in Golden. Behind Vader in scoring was senior Emily Kuipers who scored 10.

After facing Chadron State on Thursday, the Rangers traveled to Kearney, Neb. where they fell 83-61 to the Lopers on Saturday. Tae'lor Purdy scored 16 points in the game while Jacque Machesney scored 15. They also pulled down six and five boards respectively.

After falling to Colorado Christian 84-65 on Friday, the Rangers dropped their second game of the weekend to Colorado Mines in a 78-74 nailbiter at the Regis Fieldhouse on Saturday. Tae'lor Purdy scored 21 points for Regis while Chelsea Porter scored 20. Emily Kuipers and Salina Kuiper totaled for 20 points with ten points each.

Seniors Ashley Pope and Emily Kuipers were both named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll Team the conference announced Monday. Pope holds a 3.58 in Health and Exercise Science while Kuipers has a 3.48 in Elementary Education.

After succumbing to Metro State on Tuesday, 65-54, Regis grabbed a 20-point victory over UCCS, 92-72, while on the road on Friday. Leading the Rangers in scoring was Emily Kuipers with 24 points followed by Tae'lor Purdy with 21. Salina Kuiper tallied 15 points while Jacque Machesney had 14.

Coming off of a 60-54 victory over Abilene Christian on Saturday, the Rangers snagged a victory, their fourth consecutive, over Central State in their final game of the Chuck Stephens Classic in Pueblo on Sunday. Regis defeated the Marauders 70-57.

Freshman Tae'lor Purdy scored 22 points on Friday to help lead the Rangers to an 85-48 victory over Johnson & Wales University in Denver. This game was Purdy's ninth consecutive game in which she scored in double digits and her second time scoring over 20 this season.

On October 22nd, the Regis University Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) teamed up with CHOICES and SIC to host the first ever Gatorade Pong Tournament. With cooperative weather, great team costumes, a delicious BBQ and lots of swag, the tournament was an overall hit.

Three Rangers scored in double digits with freshman Tae'lor Purdy leading the way with 21 total points. Junior Chelsea Porter and senior Emily Kuipers followed with 16 and 11 points respectively.

After going 2-0 last weekend in the Regis University Catholic School Tournament, Regis heads to Golden for the CSM Thanksgiving Classic this weekend. Last weekend, the Rangers defeated Newman University in their first matchup on Fri., Nov. 20th as they walked away with a 71-45 victory. On Sat., Nov. 21st Regis defeated Rockhurst University 56-47.

The Regis University Rangers snagged their second win of the season in as many games on Saturday when they defeated the Rockhurst University Hawks 56-47 at home. Salina Kuiper was 12-for-16 from the floor to total for 26 points while Tae'lor Purdy scored 11.

The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference today announced the women's basketball preseason poll. The Regis Rangers are picked by the 14 head coaches to finish in fourth place in the East Division and sixth overall. Last season Regis finished 14-14 overall and 11-8 in conference action.
