Purdy Scores 22 in Rangers 85-48 Defeat Over Johnson & Wales

Denver, Colo.: Freshman Tae'lor Purdy scored 22 points on Friday to help lead the Rangers to an 85-48 victory over Johnson & Wales University in Denver. This game was Purdy's ninth consecutive game in which she scored in double digits and her second time scoring over 20 this season.

In the game, the Rangers shot 52.5 from the field (31-59) while shooting 45.0 from long distance (9-20). They also took advantage of free throws by sinking 14-19 from the charity line (73.7).

Chelsea Porter and Emily Kuipers scored in double digits along with Purdy scoring 15 and 12 points respectively. Kuipers also grabbed seven rebounds for Regis while also blocking one shot and sinking 2-of-3 from beyond the three-point line.

While the Ranger offense was strong, their defense was giving them the opportunities. Regis recorded five steals and forced 29 Wildcat turnovers.

Up next, Regis will face Dominican University of California on Saturday at the Regis Fieldhouse. Tipoff is set for 3:00 p.m.
