Kaitie Vader Scores 12 in Rangers' 69-52 Loss to Colorado Mines
Golden, Colo.: Freshman Kaitie Vader scored in double digits for the first time in her career on Friday as she scored 12 points in Regis' 69-52 loss to Colorado School of Mines in Golden. Behind Vader in scoring was senior Emily Kuipers who scored 10.
The Orediggers took the first lead of the game and were able to hold onto it for the remainder of play. Five minutes into the first half, CSM had a six point lead, 11-5, which the Rangers cut to one, 15-14, over the next five minutes. Going into the break, Mines had a nine point lead (29-20).
In the second half, the Rangers went on another run over a three minute period, 5:52-3:11, as they outscored the Orediggers 8-2 to cut their 13 point deficit down to seven. However, they were unable to come any closer to Mines' eventually succumbing to the Orediggers.
As Kuipers scored ten points for Regis, she also grabbed seven rebounds, sank 2-of-2 from the charity stripe, went 2-for-4 from deep, dished out two assists, had one block, and snagged one steal.
Up next, Regis will face Colorado Christian on Saturday at Colorado Christian. Tipoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
