Purdy's 20 Points Not Enough as Rangers Succumb to Colorado Christian

Denver, Colo.: Tae'lor Purdy scored 20 points Saturday night but it wasn't enough as the Rangers fell for the second time this weekend to Colorado Christian 87-69 on the road. Behind Purdy in scoring was Emily Kuipers and Chelsea Porter who scored 12 points each.

Christian took an early lead and held onto it for the remainder of the game. At the 11:32 mark, the Rangers were down by 13 but began a run to cut the deficit to six. Over a period of about two and a half minutes, Regis scored eight to the Cougars one point to set the score at 20-14.

Regis went on another run during the first half. Starting with 7:35 remaining, the Rangers scored 18 while holding Christian to just five points to be down by just one with 1:48 left in the half. At the break, the Cougars had a five point lead.

Baskets were exchanged during the second half but the Rangers were unable to get a lead eventually succumbing to Christian 87-69.

While Kuipers and Porter scored in double digits for the Rangers, they also led the team in rebounds with five boards each.

Up next, the Rangers will face Nebraska-Kearney at home on Friday, Feb. 19th. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
