Rangers Fall to CSU-Pueblo 73-45 on the Road; Kuiper Scores 18
Pueblo, Colo.: On Friday, the Rangers fell 73-45 to the CSU-Pueblo Thunderwolves while on the road. Salina Kuiper led Regis in scoring with 18 points for the Rangers.
Regis (8-6, 1-5 RMAC) took the first lead of the game and held onto it until the score became tied at six at the 17:10 mark. The Rangers went ahead on the next basket by Kuiper before Pueblo took the lead with 16 minutes remaining in the half. Regis went ahead once more in the half before the Thunderwolves regained the lead which lasted through the first period.
CSU-Pueblo was able to hold onto that lead for the entire second half, grabbing a 73-45 victory over the Rangers.
While Kuiper led the Ranger offense, Tae'lor Purdy pulled down five rebounds followed by Emily Kuipers, Kuiper, and Porter who all had four rebounds each. The Regis defense also forced 19 Pueblo turnovers in the game.
Regis also shot an impressive 14-for-16 from the free throw line (87.5) with Kuiper sinking 6-of-6 and Kaitie Vader making 5-of-6.
Up next, Regis will face N.M. Highlands in New Mexico on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
