Regis University Women's Basketball Inks Two Colorado High School Student-Athletes

Denver, Colo.: Regis University Head Women's Basketball Coach Linda Raunig announced the signing of two outstanding high school student-athletes.  Kellie Deremo of Dove Creek, Colo. and Meghan Hollenga of Colorado Springs, Colo. signed National Letters of Intent to play intercollegiate basketball at Regis in 2009-10.

Deremo, a 6-0 forward, was a three-year letter winner at Dove Creek High School.  She averaged nearly 17 points and 8.3 rebounds per game along with 5.4 assists per game.  Deremo was named First Team All-San Juan Basin League last winter and a Second Team Class 1A All-State selection.  She was also named the San Juan Basin League Player of the Year as a junior.

"Kellie is a good outside shooter that will help us stretch defenses", states 19th year head coach Linda Raunig.  "We are excited to have her join the Ranger family and coming from a successful high school program she will bring a winning mentality."

Hollenga is a 5-10 guard that will graduate from Air Academy High School in the spring of 2009.  She averaged 10.1 points per game last season helping Air Academy HS to a 19-5 record and a Metro League Championship.  She grabbed 8.6 rebounds per game and nabbed nearly four steals per contest during her junior season.  Last season she was named All-Metro League and earned the Air Academy HS Team Co-MVP.

Raunig states, "Megan is an athletic rebounder who is a go-getter on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court.  Her size and athleticism creates problems for defenses."

"Both Meghan and Kellie have an opportunity to contribute and we are excited to get both these outstanding student-athletes; they will be an asset to our program both on and off the court," says Raunig.
