Dana Lillard begins her ninth season as head coach of the Regis University softball team in 2009-10. During her first eight seasons with the Rangers, Lillard has compiled a 257-156 record (.622 winning percentage).  Furthermore, her home record is an impressive 123-46 (.728) and her RMAC record of 182-95 (.657) puts her as one of the most successful coaches in the conference.

For the second straight year in 2006, Lillard was named the RMAC Coach of the Year as she led RU to a 34-2 record in the RMAC. Overall the team finished with a 48-15 mark and advanced to their fourth appearnance in the NCAA Division II touranment. Regis was the number three seed in the South Central Region.

In 2005, the Rangers won the RMAC Regular-Season and RMAC Tournament Championships and earned a berth in the NCAA II South Central Regional Tournament for the third time in program history. Lillard was selected as the RMAC Coach of the Year in 2005 after guiding the Rangers to a 30-5 mark in conference play.

In 2002, Lillard's first season guiding the Rangers, Regis captured its first-ever RMAC Tournament Championship and qualified for the NCAA II South Central Regional Tournament. In 2004, the Rangers advanced into the RMAC Tournament Championship Game, as well.

Lillard, who previously served as an assistant coach at Colorado State University in 1999-2000, was also the head coach at Northeast Texas Community College (Mt. Pleasant, TX) during the 1998-99 campaign (27-25). Lillard's softball coaching resume also includes assistant positions at Bethune - Cookman College (NCAA I, Daytona Beach, Fla.) in 1998 and at Adams State College from 1991 to 1994.

After beginning her collegiate softball career at Pittsburg State University (KS), Lillard played her final three seasons at Mesa State College, where she earned her B.A. in Physical Education in 1990. Lillard went on to earn her M.A. in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Adams State College in 1992.

In addition to her recruiting efforts during the summer months, Lillard also spends time instructing at several Colorado softball camps. Lillard also serves as a volunteer coach on a USA All-Star team.

A graduate of Boulder's Fairview High School, Lillard played both basketball and softball as a prep athlete. Lillard helped guide the Fairview basketball squad to a State Championship, garnering All-Tournament honors along the way.

Lillard currently resides in Commerce City with her family and daughter, Sienna.
