COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.: Two Rangers made the All-RMAC teams this season. Senior utility player, Nikki Habekorn was named to the All-RMAC Second Team, while freshman Rachel Illias was named Co-Freshman of the Year and First Team All-RMAC.
Haberkorn, a native of Denver, Colo., earned herself a .257 average at the plate in 41 games started. She recorded 27 hits and 18 RBIs in 105 at bats. On the field at third base, the senior earned a .960 fielding percentage with 35 putouts, 86 assists and only five errors on the season. The right-hander was also a mainstay on the mound for the women, maintaining a 3.81 ERA and going 9-11 on the season. She had 11 complete games in 20 starts and struck out 59 batters.
Illias lead the Rangers with a .410 average at the plate. She also lead the women with 66 hits, 37 runs, and 82 total bases in her 161 at bats. She also went 17-for-21 on the base paths, walking 10 times and striking out only four times in the season. The short stop from Beaverton, Ore. had 88 assists and 97 putouts for a fielding percentage of .954.
The Rangers finished regular season play going 21-25 overall and 20-16 in the RMAC conference.
The women will take on CSU-Pueblo in the first round of the RMAC tournament on Thursday, April 26th at 10:00 PM. The game will take place at host field, Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colo.
