Senior Alisa Heronema Named to 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Central Region First Team
Record-setting senior catcher Alisa Heronema was named First Team Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II All-Central Region. Heronema helped guide the Rangers to the 2011 RMAC Championship and a berth in the Division II Tournament.

Regis' Season Comes to an End with Losses to No. 2 Minnesota Duluth and No. 1 Augustana
After coming off of a 28-21 regular season record, the Rangers went 4-1 in the RMAC tournament to clinch the title and snagged game one of the NCAA Regional tournament against No. 1 Augustana, 5-0, to advance to the second round. Regis then fell twice to No. 2 Minnesota Duluth, 1-0, and Augustana, 7-3, to close their season 33-24 overall.

Rangers Clinch RMAC Title
Nikki Haberkorn sent the Rangers to an RMAC title with her three run walk-off bomb against Adams State on Saturday. After completing regular season play 28-21, the Rangers went 4-1 at the RMAC tournament to clinch the title and gain an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament.

Coming off of a split last Sunday to Nebraska-Kearney, the Rangers dropped two as they traveled across town on Friday to Metro State. Regis tallied four runs on the day, two in each game, to the Roadrunners 16 to fall twice in as many games. Game one ended 6-2 before MSCD run-ruled Regis in five innings, 10-2, in game two.

After tallying 21 runs on Saturday, the Rangers scored 28 more on Sunday to total for 49 runs on the weekend and sweep Adams State on the road. Game one ended 7-4 in favor of Regis before the Rangers blew out ASC 21-12 in game two.

On Saturday, the Rangers reverted back to old habits as they split against CSU-Pueblo in Pueblo. Regis took game one 7-1 before succumbing 6-1 in game two. Regis fell in their first game, 4-0, to Mary before a seventh inning homer by Natalie Adami lifted the Rangers above Northwest Nazarene, 5-4, to snag a second game victory.

Rangers Begin Season with a Fresh Start and Experience
After a 22-28 record, 17-23 in the RMAC, and a fourth place East Division finish last season, Regis was picked to finish third overall in the conference and tie for second in the East Division this season. Two Rangers were named to the RMAC Preseason All-Conference team. Senior Bianca Holley was named Preseason Pitcher of the Year while receiving Preseason All-RMAC honors along with teammate Alisa Heronema, also a senior.

Nicole Trimboli Tabbed as Head Softball Coach
Regis Director of Athletics Ann Martin today announced the hiring of Nicole Trimboli as the Rangers head softball coach. Trimboli, who replaced Dana Lillard, becomes the fourth head coach in program history. She will offically begin her duties on August 15th.
