Regis Ends RMAC Tournament Play with 4-2 Loss to Metro State

Denver, Colo.: After falling 4-0 to Mesa State on Friday, Regis ended their RMAC tournament play on Saturday with a 4-2 loss to Metro State in the semifinal game. The Rangers scored both of their runs in the top of the seventh but were unable to cross four over the plate to tie the score.

The Roadrunners took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning as Tara Mickelson drove in Kellie Nishikida for the run. They added one more run in the third when Amber Roundtree scored on a single to center field by Sarah Rusch.

The fourth went scoreless before Metro added two more runs in the fifth to go up 4-0 on Regis. The sixth went scoreless before the seventh brought two runs in for the Rangers.

Two Roadrunner errors placed runners on first and second and brought Bianca Holley to the plate. Holley doubled to left center to bring in one run for Regis before a Ranger out and a hit batter brought Alisa Heronema to the plate. Heronema flew out to left field for a sacrifice fly and the Rangers second run of the game.

Regis was unable to score anymore runs ending the game 4-2 in favor of Metro State. Recording the loss was Holley who falls to 15-15.
