Rangers Fall 4-0 to Mesa State for First Loss in RMAC Tournament

Denver, Colo.: After defeating CSU-Pueblo 1-0 Friday morning, Regis fell for the first time in the RMAC tournament as they were defeated 4-0 by Mesa State Friday afternoon. The Mavericks grabbed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and extended it to four by the fourth. The Rangers were unable to cross a runner over the plate in the game.

Danielle Valli led off the bottom of the first inning for Mesa State with a single down the left field line. After advancing to second on a sacrafice and third on a ground out, she scored on a single to right center by Sara Jordan.

The second went scoreless before the Mavericks added one more run in the bottom of the third and two in the bottom of the fourth. Valli scored Mesa's second run in the third after reaching base on a walk before a two out rally brought in two more Mavericks in the bottom of the fourth.

With Regis unable to score during the game, they were shutout by Mesa State 4-0. Recording the loss was Bianca Holley who falls to 15-14 this season.

Up next, the Rangers will face Metro State on Saturday. The winner will advance to the championship game of the RMAC tournament to face Mesa State. First pitch is set for 9:30 a.m.
