Rangers Predicted to Finish Third this Season; Alisa Heronema Named RMAC Preseason Player of the Year

Colorado Springs, Colo.: The Rangers were picked to finish third in the RMAC the conference announced Tuesday. Junior Alisa Heronema received individual honors being tabbed the RMAC Preseason Player of the year.

This season, the Rangers return 12 players from last years squad 10 of which were starters. Heronema is returning for her third season after receiving numerous awards last season as a sophomore. She was named to the RMAC All-Tournament Team, All-RMAC First Team, Daktronics First Team All-Central Region, NFCA First Team All-Central Region, Daktronics Second Team All-American, and NFCA First Team All-American.

Ahead of Regis in the RMAC Preseason Poll was Metro State, chosen to finish first, and Mesa State, chosen to finish second. Behind the Rangers in order of predicted finishes was CSU-Pueblo, Colorado Mines, Adams State, Fort Lewis, Nebraska-Kearney, UCCS and Western N.M., both at ninth, Chadron State, and N.M. Highlands.

Regis will open the 2009-10 season on Feb. 5th when they face Fort Hays State at home. The first pitch is set for 12:00 p.m.
