Ranger Softball Falls Twice to CSU-Pueblo 9-1 and 6-5
Pueblo, Colo.: The Regis Ranger softball team is having a tough time finding their groove and after today's 9-1 and 6-5 losses to CSU-Pueblo that trend continues. Regis has now lost seven games in a row and 12 of the last 13 games.
Regis (4-14, 1-11 RMAC) and CSU-Pueblo (11-3, 8-1 RMAC) were tied at one going into the fourth inning when CSU-Pueblo erupted for four in the fourth and four more in the fifth to eight-run rule the Rangers in five innings.
Freshman Shannon Massine had two of the Rangers four hits, while junior Alisa Heronema went 1-for-2 and the lone Ranger RBI. Sophomore Nikki Haberkorn was saddled with the loss allowing eight earned runs while striking out eight.

Game two started out better for Regis as they scored a run in the first inning when Massine scored on a wild pitch. CSU-Pueblo then tied the score in the third inning with a solo run. Senior Mo McDaniels groundout to the shortstop in the fourth inning put Regis up 2-1 after Heronema crossed the plate.
Regis went ahead 5-1 in the sixth after scoring three more highlighted by freshman Breanna Backlunds two-run double. The Thunderwolves got two runs back on a two-run homerun by Lacey Chesser in the bottom half of the inning.
CSU-Pueblo made the comeback a truth when they scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning including a walkoff two-run homerun by Justin Bosio to complete the 6-5 victory.
Heronema and Haberkorn each collected two hits for Regis, while Backlund drove in a team-high two runs and Heronema also scored two runs.
Junior Bianca Holley falls to 2-7 on the season going 6 2/3 innings allowing six earned runs but struck out eight Thunderwolf batters.

Regis will travel to Durango, Colo. to take on Fort Lewis beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
