Rangers Fall Twice to Adams State to Finish 1-3 in Series

Denver, Colo.: After a split with Adams State on Saturday, the Rangers dropped two to the Grizzlies on Sunday to finish the series 1-3. Adams grabbed game one in five innings 8-0 before defeating Regis 11-6 in game two.

The first two innings of game one went scoreless before the Grizzlies posted three runs in the top of the third. Jaycee Lovato brought in all three RBI's when she scored Rebecca Lindquist, Ashley Pohl, and herself on a homer over the left field fence. Adams State added five more runs to the board in the top of the fifth on six hits and two Ranger errors. 

Nikki Haberkorn recorded the loss for Regis and falls to 2-4 this season.

Adams State grabbed the first lead in game two when they scored five runs in the top of the second. The Rangers answered back by crossing three over the plate in the bottom of the inning as they took advantage of two Grizzly errors and tallied one hit.

The third and fourth went scoreless before Adams State added five more runs in the top of the fifth and one in the sixth. Regis was able to add two runs in the bottom of the sixth in and one in the seventh but couldn't overcome the Grizzlies. Bianca Holley recorded the loss for the Rangers and is also now 2-5.

On the day, Heronema went 4-for-7 with one walk, two RBI's, and one run. Also going 4-for-7 was Shannon Massine who scored one run and brought in one on the day. 

Up next, Regis will face CSU-Pueblo in Pueblo on March 13th and 14th. Saturday game times are set for 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. Sunday's are set for 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
