Regis Student-Athlete Alisa Heronema Highlighted on Fox Channel 31
Regis student-athlete and recent All-American Alisa Heronema was highlighted on KDVR Fox 31 last weekend. Heronema was interviewed by noted journalist Marcia Neville in a segment titled "Prep Zone".

Alisa Heronema Named NFCA First Team All-American; First Ranger Softball Student-Athlete to Accomplish Feat
Sophomore catcher Alisa Heronema was named Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) First Team All-American. Heronema is the first Ranger softball student-athlete to be named First Team All-American in the programs 20 years.

The postseason accolades keep coming in for the Ranger softball team. This time junior catcher Mo McDaniel was named to the ESPN The Magazine All-District VII Academic Second Team.

Sophomore Catcher Alisa Heronema Named Daktronics First Team All-Region
Sophomore catcher Alisa Heronema was named Daktronics All-Central Region First Team. The Daktronics All-Central Region team was voted upon by sports information directors throughout the Central Region made up of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

Rebekah Tippets Named to RMAC All-Time Team
Rebekah Tippets was named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Softball All-Time Team after playing outfield for the Rangers from 1999-2002. Tippets was named RMAC Co-Player of the Year in 2002 and was a four time First Team All-RMAC selection. She is the only softball player in Regis History to be named to the Regis Hall of Fame.

Heronema Named to All-RMAC Tournament Team
Sophomore Alisa Heronema was named to RMAC All-Tournament team the conference announced Saturday. In four tournament games, Heronema went 13-for-17 in the leadoff spot scoring eight total runs while hitting five doubles, two triples, and having two stolen bases.

Rangers Split in Day Two of RMAC Tournament to end Tournament Play
After coming into the RMAC Tournament as the No. 5 seed, Regis' tournament play came to an end on Friday as they split on the day giving them their second loss for elimination. The Rangers defeated Fort Lewis in game one 4-1 before succuming to Mesa State College 5-3 in game two.

Rangers Split in Day One of RMAC Tournament to Stay Alive for Second Day of Play
After falling 6-4 to Colorado State Pueblo in game one of the RMAC Tournament, the Rangers came back to defeat Nebraska-Kearney 12-4 in just six innings keeping themselves alive for play in day two of tournament play.

Three Ranger Softball Student-Athletes Earn First and Second Team RMAC All Academic
Five Ranger softball student-athletes were recently named to the RMAC All-Academic teams. Sophomores Bianca Holley and Emily Anderson were named to the first team, while junior Mo McDaniel was tabbed second team. Sophomores Jamie Winsor and Sara Baumberger were named to the Honor Roll.

Rangers Earn Five Seed to 2009 RMAC Tournament; Play CSU-Pueblo in First Game on Thursday
The Regis Ranger softball team earned the #5 seed for the upcoming Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference softball tournament. Regis will play #4 seed CSU-Pueblo at 9:30 AM Thursday morning at Metro State, who earned the #1 seed and the right to host the tournament.

Rangers Drop Two to Mines in Final Regular Season Games and Gain No. 5 Seed for RMAC Tournament
After a split on Saturday, the Rangers fell twice in as many games to the Colorado Mines Orediggers on Sunday. Game one ended in just five innings with Mines grabbing an 8-0 victory over Regis. In game two, the Rangers crossed one over the plate to Mines' 4 runs falling in their final regular season game 4-1.

Rangers Split with Mines on First Day of Final Season Series
In the first day of their final regular season series, Regis split in their double header against Colorado School of Mines. The Orediggers took the first game 6-2 before the Rangers came back to steal game two 8-3. Sophomore Alisa Heronema went 5-for-9 in the leadoff spot scoring two runs for the Rangers while freshman Natalie Adami tallied three hits in six at bats also scoring two Ranger runs. On the day, Adami recorded five RBI's, hit one double, one triple, and one homerun while taking one base on balls and stealing one bag.

Taking One of Three Against UCCS, Regis Says Goodbye to Senior Jacki Martinez in Last Home Series
Denver, Colo.: After a two day storm postponed the Rangers host to University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, a triple header took place on senior day at the Regis Softball Field on Monday. The Rangers took game one 7-3 before succumbing to the Mountain Lions in games two (6-5) and three (11-6).

Softball Schedule Changed Once Again Due to Snowstorm
The snowstorm that has blanketed the front range once again forced the a postponement for the Ranger softball team. The two games scheduled for Sunday are cancelled. On Monday, Regis and UC-Colorado Springs will play a triple header with the first game beginning at 1 PM, the second game at 3 PM and the finale at 5 PM.

Rangers Split in Second Day of Series with Chadron State
After a split in Saturday’s doubleheader, Sunday seemed to be a rerun. The Rangers fell in game one 9-3 before defeating the Chadron State Eagles 2-0 in game two.

After Loss Rangers Comeback for Ninth Inning Victory Over Chadron State in Game Two
After squandering a one run lead in the top of the seventh, Regis fell 7-3 to the Chadron State Eagles in game one. Freshman pitcher Nikki Haberkorn gave up five runs in the seventh on three Eagle hits and one Ranger error. In game two, sophomore pitcher Bianca Holley recorded the 5-4 win for the Rangers leading them to a split on the day.

After two days of cancelled games due to snow, Regis faced Adams State on Monday at Metro State. Both teams split on the day with both games having a one run differential. The Rangers stole the first game 8-7 before the Grizzlies snagged game two 6-5.

Today's softball doubleheader between Regis and CSU-Pueblo has been canceled due to snow remaining on the Metro State softball field. The Rangers will however play tomorrow, Monday, against Adams State on the Auraria Campus. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM.

Ranger Softball and Baseball Postponed Saturday
Another blast of cold air and snow have changed the spring Regis softball and baseball schedules. The softball team was scheduled to play a doubleheader against CSU-Pueblo this morning on the Metro State campus. The games will be moved to tomorrow at 9:00 AM, but may in fact be moved to Monday.

The Regis Ranger softball team is currently ranked seventh in the most recent NCAA Division II Central Region rankings. The Rangers sport a 24-15 record and are currently second in the RMAC East Division with a 16-8 loop record.

Rangers Split in Second Part of Series to Snag Two of Four from Kearney
After winning the second game on Saturday, Regis carried that momentum into Sunday to snag a 2-0 victory in the first game. In the second game, the Rangers fell by one run, 5-4, to the Lopers. These two games completed the series in Kearney, Nebraska against the Lopers.

In the first game, the Cowgirls took the victory 5-3 before the Rangers came back to run rule Highlands 8-0 in five innings in the second game.

Rangers Finish 3-2 in Beaumont, Calif. Tallying 22 Runs
The Rangers return from Beaumont, Calif. after five games in two days with three victories and two losses. Regis fell in their first game of the weekend on Feb. 14th to CSU Monterey Bay 8-0 before grabbing two wins. Their first win came against Academy of Art, 2-1, and their second win was over Notre Dame de Namur 7-0. The following day the Rangers went 1-1 falling 4-1 in their first game against Notre Dame de Namur and claiming their third victory on the weekend over UC San Diego 12-3.

Ranger Softball Picked to Finish Sixth in RMAC; Three Rangers Earn Preseason All-RMAC Honors
The Regis University softball team was picked to finish sixth in 2009 as released by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Regis is selected to finish third in the East Division with Colorado Mines picked to win the division. The voting for the preseason poll is done by the 12 head coaches.

Ranger Softball Signs Two Colorado High School Student-Athletes to National Letters of Intent
Regis University Head Softball Coach Dana Lillard announced the signing of two Colorado high school student-athletes for the 2010 season. Breanna Backlund of Aurora and Shannon Massine of Larkspur both signed National Letters of Intent to play softball at Regis University.
