Three Ranger Softball Student-Athletes Earn First and Second Team RMAC All Academic

Colorado Springs, Colo.: Five Ranger softball student-athletes were recently named to the  RMAC All-Academic teams.  Sophomores Bianca Holley and Emily Anderson were named to the first team, while junior Mo McDaniel was tabbed second team.  Sophomores Jamie Winsor and Sara Baumberger were named to the Honor Roll.

Holley, from Arvada, Colo., sports a 3.26 GPA in Communications.  She leads the Rangers on the mound with a 3.32 ERA and is second with a 13-8 record.  She has struck out 107 batters and has four shutouts in 164 1/3 innings.

Anderson, who has started 44 games at first base, has a 3.88 GPA in History/Spanish.  The Florissant, Mo. native has a .257 average and is second on the team with six homeruns.  She has seven doubles on the season and 28 RBI.  She has just three errors (.991 fielding pct.) in 321 chances.

McDaniel, from Fort Collins, Colo., was named to the second team with a perfect 4.00 GPA in Math and Music.  She has played in 42 games and has started 28 games.  This is the second year in a row that McDaniel has been named to the RMAC All-Academic Second Team.

Winsor and Baumberger were named to the Honor Roll with a 3.45 and 3.50 GPA respectively.  Winsor has a Math major, while Baumberger is in Nursing.  Winsor has started all 52 games at shortstop, while hitting at a .318 clip, third best on the team.  Baumberger has appeared in 15 games this season, mainly as a pinch runner.  She has scored eight runs and has a .250 average at the plate.

Senior pitcher Casey Williams of Chadron State is the RMAC Softball Academic Player of the Year.  She has a 4.00 GPA in Psychology.
