Freshman Ranger Nikki Haberkorn Named RMAC Pitcher of the Week

Denver, Colo.: Freshman pitcher Nikki Haberkorn was named RMAC Pitcher of the Week the conference announced Tuesday.

Haberkorn pitched two of the Rangers' four home games this past weekend grasping a 1-1 record in her first two collegiate games. In her first game on the mound, she pitched an 11 inning, four run (two earned), 13 hit game which Regis lost 4-3 to Fort Hays State. In this matchup, she struck out three.

The following day, Haberkorn pitched the second game of the day against Colorado State Pueblo leading Regis to their only victory on the weekend. The Rangers defeated the Thunderwolves 6-3 while Haberkorn allowed two earned runs, three hits, and struck out five.

In total, Haberkorn pitched 18 innings on the weekend registering four earned runs (seven total), 16 hits, and eight strikeouts. She walked only two batters in two complete games pitched.
