Gary Cole begins his second season as an assistant coach with the men's soccer program. He played for the Rangers during the 2008, 2009, and 2010 seasons.
In 2010, Cole played 21 games while he started 20 and logged 1,885 minutes of play. As a defender, he scored one goal and of seven shots, three were on goal. He was named 2010 RMAC Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-RMAC, NSCAA All-American, Men's Scholar All-American Second Team, and NSCAA Scholar All-West Region First Team.
In 2009, Cole started in all 19 games. He helped the Rangers to a 1.36 goal against average which is ninth best in Regis history. He led the team with 1,731 minutes played out of 1,790 minutes total. During his play, he had one assist and three attempted shots. He was named to the 2009 Daktronics First Team All-Central Region, NSCAA Second Team All-Central Region, All-RMAC First Team, and the RMAC Academic Second Team.
In 2008, he started all 18 games of the season. He recorded one assist and had two shots on goal. He was named to the 2008 NSCAA First Team All-Central Region, Daktronics First Team All-Central Region, and All-RMAC the First Team.
He started his collegiate career at the Division I University of Vermont in Burlington, Vt. where he played in 11 games and started in seven.
Cole graduated Arapahoe high school in Centennial, Colo. in 2007. He was named the Continental League Player of the Year in 2006 as well as being named to the Denver Post All-Colorado Team, and the All-Rocky Mountain Team. He was also an All-State selection in 2006 as well as being a three-time All-Conference selection.
He was born on March 17th, 1989 and is the son of Jeff Cole.
