Rangers Place Four on Daktronics All-Central Region Team; Emge and Diem to First
Denver, Colo.: Senior forward Kyle Emge and junior defender Taylor Diem were named to the Daktronics All-Central Region First Team this week for their performances throughout the season. Senior forward Ben Buhler and junior midfielder Stephen Reed were named to the Second Team.
Emge, a native of Fort Collins, Colo. and Daktronics First Team selection, has played in 17 matches, while he started in 15. He scored six goals, including one game-winner, and tallied three assists and 15 points on the season. In 53 shots, 21 have been on goal of a .396 shots on goal percentage. The 6-2 forward was named to the Capital One Academic All-District VII Team, All-RMAC First Team, RMAC All-Academic First Team, and was named Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 11th.
Another First Team selection, Diem has been a strong defender for the Rangers throughout the season. The Middleton, Wis. native started in 14 of his 15 matches played. He scored two goals and recorded one assist for five points on the season. Diem was an All-RMAC Second Team selection.
Being named to the Daktronics Second Team, Buhler was named to the Capital One Academic All-District VII Team, All-RMAC First Team and RMAC All-Academic First Team. He started in 14 of the 17 matches he played in, scoring one goal and tallying 12 points. In 39 shots, 16 were on goal for a .475 shots on goal percentage. Buhler led the Rangers with four game-winning goals in the 2011 season.
Reed was also named a Second Team selection. He is one of three Rangers to have played in all 18 matches during the 2011 season, while he started in 15. Reed scored six goals, including one game-winner, and tallied four assists for 16 points. In 40 shots, 19 were on goal for a .475 shots on goal percentage. The 6-3 midfielder was named All-RMAC Second Team and RMAC All-Academic Honorable Mention.
The Rangers finished their season with a 13-4-1 overall record and a 10-3-1 RMAC conference record.
