Rangers Keep Rolling with 2-1 Win Over Mary
Bismarck, N.D.: With 18 shots, seven on goal, Regis doubled the University of Mary's shots taken in the Rangers' 2-1 victory over the Marauders on Sunday on the road. Taylor Diem took five shots in the game placing three on goal and sending two to the back of Mary's net.
Mary took a 1-0 lead early on just over four minutes into the game when Chris Stier scored on a header from Jake Hawkins. That lead remained for ten minutes before Diem was assisted by Kyle Emge and Ben Fredrickson on RU's first goal of the game.
The Rangers' second goal was scored with just one and a half minutes remaining in the first half. Ben Buhler assested Diem as he crossed the ball to the middle where Diem struck from 15 yards out for goal number two. This goal became the game winning goal as neither team scored in the second half.
This win lifts Regis to a 2-0 record going into their next game also against Mary on Sept. 12th. Kickoff is set for 3:30 at the Regis Match Pitch.
