The Regis University Board of Trustees announced Father John P. Fitzgibbons, S.J., as the 24th president of Regis University. He will take office June 1, 2012. Dick Kelly, chair of the Regis University Board of Trustees, made the announcement.

Kafer Earns First Team NSCAA Scholar All-America; Three Others Honored on Second Team
Senior Nathan Kafer was honored on the First Team National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar College Division All-America team, while teammates senior Gary Cole and juniors Ben Buhler and Kyle Emge were each named to the second team. The four Rangers honored were the most student-athletes recognized from one team in the whole country. The College Division consists of all schools not competing at the NCAA Division I level.

Nathan Kafer Named Second Team NSCAA All-America; Gary Cole Earns Third Team
The duo of Nathan Kafer and Gary Cole helped the Regis men's soccer team to an historic season; and rightfully so, they are being rewarded for their play. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America awarded Kafer a spot on the 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru NCAA Men's Division II All-America Second Team, while Cole was named to the third team.

Gary Cole Named Second Team Daktronics Men's Soccer All-America; Nathan Kafer Named Honorable Mention
Senior defender Gary Cole was today named to the Daktronics Men's Soccer Second Team All-America squad as voted on by sports information directors from across the country. Cole becomes the first All-America honoree since Lance Snodgrass did so in 2001. Fellow senior Nathan Kafer was tabbed to the honor roll.

Rangers Dream Season Comes to an End at NCAA First Round
The 2010 Regis men's soccer season came to an end today in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at the hands of third-ranked Colorado Mines 5-1. The Rangers end their season with a 14-3-4 record and a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.

Regis University Men's Soccer Earns First NCAA Division II Tournament Berth in School History
A crowd of nearly 100, packed into the Regis Fieldhouse conference room, erupted when Regis University was announced as one of the 32 teams that will vie for a national championship. For the first time in school history, Regis will take part in the NCAA Tournament with a first round matchup against RMAC foe Colorado Mines on Thursday afternoon.

Regis men's soccer Head Coach Tony McCall has guided his team to a 14-2-4 record and a #14 national ranking but it is at home with his at that has brought his two "families" together. David Pickle of the NCAA recently did an article on how McCall's family, the Regis soccer team and the Colorado Mines soccer team have come together to join forces in helping people with Down Syndrome including McCall's youngest daughter Kenleigh.

#14 Regis Men's Soccer Ties Fort Lewis 1-1 in RMAC Semifinals; Fall in Shootout
On a day where the weather felt like the beginning of the soccer season instead of the end of the season, the 14th-ranked Regis Rangers and the defending national champions Fort Lewis played a do-or-die match that ended in a 1-1 tie. However, advancing to the RMAC Finals was the Skyhawsks as they won the shootout 4-2.

Two Outstanding Men's Soccer Student-Athletes Named to ESPN Academic All-District VII Teams
Senior Nathan Kafer, fresh off a hat trick in a 6-2 RMAC opening round victory over CSU-Pueblo, and junior Kyle Emge, were both named to the ESPN Academic All-District VII First and Second Teams respectively. As voted on by members of CoSIDA, this marks the first time since 2001 that any Regis men's soccer student-athletes have been named academic all-district.

The 14th-ranked Regis men's soccer team fell behind six seed CSU-Pueblo early but Regis scored six of the next seven goals to beat the Thunderwolves 6-2 in the first round of the RMAC Tournament. The three seed Rangers were helped by senior Nathan Kafer's hat trick.

Ticket Prices Set for RMAC First Round Soccer Match against CSU-Pueblo
Ticket prices are set for the first round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Championship between Regis and CSU-Pueblo. The game will be played at 3:30 p.m. on the Regis Match Pitch. Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors/children/students (with ID), which includes Regis students. However, the first 100 Regis students will be admitted free.
