Rangers Extend Winning Streak to Three with 1-0 Victory Over Mesa State
Grand Junction, Colo.: The Rangers extended their winning streak to three on Friday after defeating the Mesa State Mavericks for the second time this season 1-0 while on the road. This victory brings Regis to an RMAC record of 6-1-4, 8-3-4 overall.
The first half went scoreless with the Rangers taking five shots against MSC goalkeeper Josh Tinaglia. Regis forced Tinaglia to make two saves in the period with two shots on goal.
The game remained scoreless until the 64:17 mark when sophomore Jordan Brandel scored the winning goal for the Rangers and his fourth of the season. He was unassisted on the play. Brandel's goal and six second period saves by senior goalkeeper Wally Fink helped lead Regis to the victory.
In the match, Regis totaled ten shots five of which were on goal.
Next, the Rangers will face Fort Lewis College on Sunday in Durango. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
