Kafer Scores Two in Rangers 4-1 Defeat Over UCCS
Denver, Colo.: Nathan Kafer scored two goals in the Rangers' 4-1 defeat over the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Friday afternoon in Denver.
With just under six minutes left in the first half, Regis scored the first goal of the game to take the lead 1-0. Freshman Ben Buhler took a shot which deflected off of UCCS goalkeeper, Adam Liszewski, and into the feet of Kafer who took the shot.
The Mountain Lions tied the game at one quick into the second half when Mike Mason shot into the far post for the goal at the 50:14 mark. Just under two minutes later the Rangers answered back when Buhler dribbled in and passed to senior Chris Camp who served the ball to freshman Kyle Emge for the goal.
The Rangers scored again at the 61:42 mark when Kafer was assisted by Buhler on Regis' third goal of the game. Freshman Jordan Brandel scored the last goal of the game on a direct kick with just over two minutes left.
Regis will face Colorado State Pueblo on Sun., Oct. 26 at the Regis Soccer Pitch. Kickoff is set for 3:30.
