Regis Picked to Finish Second in the RMAC; Nathan Kafer Voted Preseason Player of the Year

Colorado Springs, Colo.: The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced today that the Regis men's soccer team was voted to finish the upcoming season in second place behind defending champions Fort Lewis. The Rangers finished the 2007 season 9-4-1 in the RMAC and 11-7-1 overall before losing to the Skyhawks in the first found of the conference tournament.

Fort Lewis, who won a bid to the NCAA Division II men's soccer tournament last season, was picked to win the conference championship again this season. Following Regis' second place vote is Metro State, Colorado Mines, Mesa State, CSU-Pueblo, UC-Colorado Springs, and Colorado Christian respectively.

Helping lead the Rangers this season is sophomore Nathan Kafer who was voted the 2008 RMAC Preseason Player of the Year. Kafer was last year's RMAC Freshman of the year with 13 goals and nine assists. Joining Kafer on the preseason all-conference team are teammates Danny Terrill and Sterling Copeland.
