The Battle of Nationally Ranked Men's Soccer Teams Goes to Incarnate Word
San Antonio, Texas: The Regis men's soccer team, ranked 23rd in the preseason NSCAA poll, weren't able to stop the potent offense of 21st ranked Incarnate Word falling 2-0 in their season opener.
Neither team could put the ball in the net in the first half but with Incarnate Word outshooting the Rangers 32-5 they found the net twice in the second half. Freshman goalkeeper Ben Sabados had his hands full in his collegiate debut but responded with a sold 12 saves allowing just the two goals.
The Rangers will look to respond as they travel to play St. Edwards on Sunday.
