Rangers Fall to No. 3 Fort Lewis; Copeland Scores Regis' Lone Goal

Denver, Colo.: Sterling Copeland scored the Rangers' lone goal in their loss to No. 3 Fort Lewis Friday afternoon.

The entire first half went by without a goal, but just five minutes and 27 seconds into the second period the Rangers took the lead 1-0. Senior Matt Gonzales and sophomore Nathan Kafer assisted Copeland who headed in the goal for Regis.

Five minutes and 13 seconds later the Skyhawks tied the game when sophomore Euan Purcell scored on an assist from Paul Sanchez. Less than two minutes later Fort Lewis took the lead. Paul Sanchez headed in the ball on an assist from junior Sam Morris making the score 2-1 Fort Lewis.

Neither team scored for the remainder of the game making that the final score.

Regis will face Mesa State College Sun., Oct. 5 at the Regis Match Pitch. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
