Regis Men's Soccer Ties Colorado Mines 1-1
Arvada, Colo.: Two overtimes weren't enough to decide a winner in the Regis and Colorado Mines men's soccer matchup. The initial RMAC contest for both squads ended in a 1-1 tie that was played at Long Lake Park in Arvada, Colo. due to field construction on the campus of Colorado Mines.
The two teams were scoreless for the first 81 minutes of the game, before Regis freshman Jordan Brandel scored the first goal of his collegiate career at the 81:10 mark. The lead however, was short-lived as just 1:39 later Mines (2-1-1) scored thier first goal of the game by Jacob Juett to knot the score.
The two teams battled for two overtimes with neither team scoring resulting in the tie. Regis (0-2-1) had seven shots, three on goal compared to 15 shots for Mines. Regis goalkeeper Wally Fink played all 110 minutes allowing just the one goal and registering three saves.
The Rangers will look for their first victory of the season on Sunday as they travel to Lakewood, Colo. to take on Colorado Christian. Kickoff is set for 3:30 PM.
