Men's Golf Opens Season with Nine Place Finish at Adams State Grizzly Invite

Alamosa, Colo.: The Regis University men's golf team opened their season with a ninth place finish at the Adams State Grizzly Invite at Cattails Golf Course (71-6562).

RMAC foe Colorado Mines took home the team honors with total of 855, while Colorado Mesa was next with an 865; Regis meanwhile carded a 910.

Senior Ben Davis led the way for the Rangers with a 29th place finish for a 54-hole total of 225. (78-72-75)  He had a team low 72 in round two, while fellow senior Robert Quick was 34th, just one stroke behind Davis following a 76-76-74.

Freshmen Steven DaSilva, Dillon McDonald and sophomore Donnie Stewart rounded out the scoring for Regis.  DaSilva shot a 75-77-77 for a 229, while McDonald carded a 234 (76-81-77) to finish 51st.  Donnie Stewart shot an 81 in the first and third round sandwiched by a 77 in round two for a final score of 239.

Regis will go next week to the Peaks Classic at Grandote Peaks Golf Club in LaVeta, Colo., Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 12-13.
