Three Ranger Men's Golfers Named RMAC All-Academic
Colorado Springs, Colo.: Three Rangers were named to the Men's Golf All-RMAC Academic team the conference announced Tuesday. Receiving second team honors were senior Zach Johnson and junior Robert Quick. Senior Evan DeCoster was named to the third team.
Johnson, from Arvada, Colo., holds a 3.50 in business at Regis. Johnson was tied for third on the team with a 77.5 scoring average in 2010-11. He was one of the five that was on the Regis team that made it to the NCAA Tournament this season. Johnson played in a team-high nine events and earned two top 20 finishes.
From Littleton, Colo., Quick has a 3.55 GPA in computer science. Quick was second on the team with a 77.4 scoring average and was also one of five on the team at the NCAA Super Regional.
With a 3.49 in business is DeCoster who came to Colorado from Albuqurque, N.M. He participated in three events in 2010-11 and had an 83.0 average during his senior campaign.
To receive All-Academic honors a student-athlete must have a 3.30 GPA or better, be a starter or reserve, and have completed two consecutive semesters at their current institution.
