Ranger Men's Golf Competes in One of the Toughest Tournaments in the Nation at Grand Canyon Invitational
Goodyear, Ariz.: The Estrella Golf Course (72-7121) and the other 17 teams competing at the Grand Canyon Invitational proved to be too much for Regis as they finished in 16th place with a three-round total of 937.
Oklahoma City University and Western Washington tied for the team title with an 863 while Julian Valenciana of Oklahoma City earned the individual medalist with an 8-under 208.
Regis was led by RMAC Golfer of the Week junior Greg Johnson and his 227 score (80-72-75). Johnson tied for 44th, while sophomore Robert Quick carded a 238 (78-77-83) to finish in a tie for 67th with teammate junior Zach Johnson (79-81-78).
Sophomores Taylor Hulbert and Ben Davis each shot a 239 to finish in a tie for 72nd. Hulbert shot rouunds of 80, 77 and 82 while Davis carded a 76, 81 and 82.
Regis will finish out their fall season at the Colorado Mines/Regis Invitational next Monday and Tuesday at the Blackstone Country Club in Aurora, Colo.
