Greg Johnson's Third Place Finish Helps Rangers to Sixth Place Showing at Eisenhower Spring Invite
Colorado Springs, Colo.: Junior Greg Johnson carded a 3-over 219 to finish in a tie for third at the Eisenhower Spring Invite on the campus of the Air Force Academy. The Rangers as a team finished in sixth place on the Eisenhower Golf Course (72-7301).
Fort Lewis took the team title with a combined 885, while UC-Colorado Springs was just two strokes behind in second place. Regis carded an aggregate 921 in the final tuneup before the RMAC Championships next weekend.
Central Oklahoma's Andrew Green was the individual medalist with a 1-under 215 and held on late after going into the final round nine-under. Devin Schriener of Fort Lewis was runner-up one stroke better than Johnson at 2-over 218.
Sophomore Robert Quick was the next finisher for Regis in a tie for 26th with a 231, 15-over (76-80-75). Fellow sophomore Alex Roberts was next with a 236 (+20) with rounds of 77, 77 and 82. Junior Zach Johnson and freshman Parker Smith finished back-to-back at 47th and 48th place carding a 239 and 240 respectively.
The Rangers will finish up their season next week at the RMAC Championships in Florence, Ariz.
