Regis Finishes Fourth in RMAC Championship Tournament; Greg Johnson Ties for Second

Buckeye, Ariz.: The Regis men’s golf team finished fourth overall in the RMAC Championship tournament finishing third among other RMAC teams with sophomore Greg Johnson tying for second place at the Sundance Golf Club (72-6893).

The Rangers finished with an overall score of 919 shooting a 312 in the first round, a 302 in the second round, and a 305 in the third round. UC-Colorado Springs took first with a total score of 900, Western New Mexico finished second (901), and Upper Iowa third (915).

Leading the Rangers and tying for second overall was Johnson who shot a 218 (+2). In the first round he shot a 73 followed by a 71 and a 74. 

Finishing in a tie for 33rd was junior Josh Wagner (80-79-77) with a three-round total of 236 (+20).  Two strokes back of Wagner was sophomore Zach Johnson who after a dismal 90 in the first round followed it up with back-to-back 74s.  Freshman Robert Quick (77-78-87) tied for 46th carding a 242 (+26), while fellow freshman Kyle Seery (82-89-80) finished in a tie for 58th shooting a 251 (+35).  

Upper Iowa’s Adam Winans finished first (216) with UC-Colorado Springs’ Tyler Bishop tying with Johnson (218) for RMAC Individual Medalist.
