Ranger Men Second After Round 1 of Bob Writz Invite

Lakewood, Colo.: The Ranger men's golf team is sitting in second place after one round of the Bob Writz (Colorado Mines) Invite held at Fox Hollow Golf Course (72-7276) in Lakewood.  The Rangers had an aggregate score of 293, just five strokes behind tournament leader Colorado Christian's 288.

Junior Josh Wagner leads the way for Regis with an even-par round of 72.  Wagner shot an astounding 32 on the back nine and is in a tie for third overall.  Freshman Taylor Hulbert also had a good back nine carding a 34 and is tied for sixth overall with a 73 (+1).  Sophomore Greg Johnson and freshman Robert Quick each tallied a 74 (+2) good for a tie for ninth out of 43 golfers.  Sophomore Zach Johnson shot a 77 (+5) to tie for 21st.

Two Ranger golfers played as individuals; freshman Kyle Seery was able to shoot an 81 (+9)overall to tie for 36th, while sophomore Alex Roberts was just one stroke behind Seery, tying for 38th.

The final round will be played Tuesday at Fox Hollow with first tee time set for 10:30 AM.
