Demitrius Owens Earns All-RMAC Honors
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.: Men's basketball player Demitrius Owens was named to the All-RMAC Third Team Wednesday in response to his efforts during the 2011-12 season.
Owens started in all 26 games as a forward for the Rangers. The San Leandro, Calif. native hit on 102-of-230 field goals for a .443 field goal percentage and 7-of-14 attempts from long distance for a .500 three-point percentage.
Owens led the team with 8.0 rebounds per game and 209 total rebounds on the season. He averaged 11.2 points per game while tallying 44 assists on the season. The 6-5 junior also led the team with 19 blocks and 39 steals.
Throughout the season, Owens earned recognition from the RMAC offices as he was named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week on November 28th.
The men finished out their season with a 5-21 overall record and a 2-20 RMAC conference record.
