12th-Ranked Colorado Mines Too Much for Rangers

Golden, Colo.: The Regis University men's basketball team jumped out to an early lead but couldn't hold on falling to 12-ranked Colorado Mines 80-56.

Regis (4-9, 1-8 RMAC) scored the first six points of the game and led 7-4 after junior Dionte Goodlett went 1-for-2 at the free throw line.  The Rangers then went on a four-minute scoring drought in which Colorado Mines (12-1, 8-1 RMAC) took the lead at 14-7.  A three pointer by senior Lance Korell with just under five minutes remaining to cut the lead to 27-21 but ended up trailing 34-23 at halftime.

CSM reeled off 11 straight points to begin the second half and Regis could only get as close as 16 points and ended up winning 80-56.

Junior Breen Weeks led Regis with 11 points, while junior Dionte Goodlett chipped in with 10 points.

Regis travels to UC-Colorado Springs on Friday night and CSU-Pueblo on Saturday evening.
