Rangers Lead Wire-to-Wire in 77-45 Victory over Northern New Mexico
Pueblo, Colo.: Scoring the first 12 points of the and leading wire-to-wire, the Regis men were able to easily dispense of Northern New Mexico 77-45 at the Chuck Stephens Classic at Massari Arena.
Regis (6-4) led 12-0 after five minutes of play and 31-10 with just 5:21 remaining in the first half. The Rangers led 35-21 at halftime. The Ranger defense forced Northern New Mexico (2-10) into 14 turnovers and just six made baskets in the first half.
The Rangers blew open the game by going on a 21-7 run over an eight and a half minute span to take a 71-35 lead with 5:12 remaining.
The Rangers shot a season-high 56.4 percent from the field while limiting Northern New Mexico to just 32.6 percent.
Senior guard Matt Rosinski led the way with 24 points, followed by junior guard Jordan Martinez-Doublin's 12 points. Sophomore forward Chris Johansen led the Rangers with eight rebounds and also chipped in with eight points. Juniors Matt Busch and Curtis Mitchell also each chipped in with eight points.
Regis will host CSU-Pueblo in a non-conference tilt on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Regis Fieldhouse.
