Ranger Men Fall in Final Non-Conference Game 77-60 to Johnson & Wales
Denver, Colo.: The Regis Ranger men's basketball team stepped out of conference to take on Johnson & Wales University. The Rangers were outrebounded 42-21 in a tough 77-60 loss to the Wildcats.
Regis (6-7) trailed by six points, 32-26, at halftime but Johnson & Wales (11-9) came out after halftime and hit on nearly 60 percent from the field to pull away.
For the game, Johnson & Wales connected on 57 percent and limited the Rangers to just 37 percent from the field. The Rangers did hit a season high eight three-point baskets but were hurt by 20 turnovers.
Junior Jordan Martinez-Doublin led the Rangers with 16 points and four steals. He was followed by senior Matt Rosinski's 15 points, while junior Curtis Mitchell came off the bench to chip in with 10 points. Sophomore Chris Johansen once again led the Rangers in rebounding, with five boards while tallying nine points.
MJ Crespin led four Wildcat players in double figures with 13 points. Nate Lark had a game-high nine boards to go along with 12 points.
Regis will return to RMAC action when they go on the road this weekend for a pair of games. Friday night they travel to play CSU-Pueblo, while on Saturday they head to New Mexico Highlands.
