Rosinski's 31 Points Not Enough as Rangers Fall to Deep New Mexico Highlands Team 86-68

Las Vegas, N.M.: The top two scorers in the RMAC were matched up tonight with Regis' Matt Rosinski outscoring RMAC leading scorer Roman Andrade 31-8 but Andrade's New Mexico Highlands team was able to come away with an 86-68 victory.

Regis (6-9, 1-6 RMAC) led early at 4-3 but that would be the last lead they would have as the deep New Mexico Highlands (9-6, 3-4 RMAC) team slowly built their lead and went into halftime ahead 46-33.

The Cowboys led by as many as 29 points several times and won going away 86-68.

This marks the third time that Rosinski has topped the 30-point mark after going 11-for-24 on the evening.  He also led the Rangers with three assists.  Junior guard Curtis Mitchell came off the bench to score a career-high 15 points including a perfect 2-of-2 from long distance.

Regis got back on track at the free throw line connecting on 22 of their 26 attempts (84.6 percent).

New Mexico Highlands was able to hit 50 percent of their shots from the field compared to 38.6 percent for Regis.

Midaugas Markevicius led New Mexico Highlands with 16 points, while Chop Tang chipped in with 12 points.

Regis will have a short turnaround as they host crosstown rival Metro State on Tuesday night at 5:00 p.m. at the Regis Fieldhouse.
