Ranger Junior Guard Matt Rosinski Named RMAC East Division Player of the Week

Denver, Colo.: Junior guard Matt Rosinski was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference East Division Player of the Week for his efforts last week (Dec. 29 - Jan. 4) in two victories.

The Glendale, Ariz. native averaged 28.5 ppg in two wins over Kansas Wesleyan (87-82) and Peru State (99-53).  He also had three rebounds, five assists, a steal and a blocked shot.

Against Peru State, he scored a career-high 37 points on 15-of-25 shooting.  He hit four three-pointers and was 3-of-5 from the free throw line.  Rosinski outscored the Bobcats by himself in the first half as he poured in 24 points to just 23 for Peru State.

The previous night he put in 20 points including 7-of-8 from the charity stripe.  He leads the team and is sixth in the RMAC averaging 18.6 points per game.  He has also hit a team high 21 threes and 44 free throws (44-for-53, 83.0 percent).  He is second on the team averaging 3.33 assists per game.

Rosinski began his Ranger career on a bit of a slow start.  He averaged just nine points per game in his first three, however, since then he has averaged 21.8 ppg.  He has been even better as of late.   Over the last five games, he has put in 24.5 ppg, four of which were 20-plus point games.  He has connected on 52.6 percent of his field goal attempts and has averaged 2.6 three pointers per game.

Regis, now 5-7 overall, returns to conference action this weekend as they travel to Silver City, N.M. to take on Western New Mexico on Saturday afternoon.
