Former Ranger All-American catcher Patrick Farrell was cleared medically to play by the New York Mets and began his professional career as a member of the Mets' rookie team, the Kingsport (Tenn.) Mets.

Former Rangers Catcher Patrick Farrell Drafted in 32nd Round by New York Mets
All-America catcher Patrick Farrell today was selected in the 32nd round of the Major League Baseball amateur draft by the New York Mets. Farrell becomes the 12th player in Regis history to be drafted and the first since pitcher Matt Huff was selected in the 27th round in 2006 by the San Diego Padres.

Senior catcher Patrick Farrell today was named to two separate NCAA Division II Central Region First Teams. The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Daktronics, which are voted on by the sports information directors in the region, both tabbed Farrell first team.

Regis placed seven outstanding student-athletes on the 2010 RMAC baseball all-conference teams. Patrick Farrell and Charlie Henderson was tabbed to the first team, while , J.T. Putt, Alex Haag and Bryant Asnicar earned second team. Third team members for Regis included Jesus Arzaga and Max Regalado.

Regis Runs into Road Block in the way of #7 Ranked New Mexico Highlands Falling 18-4 at the RMAC Tournament
The Rangers found out why New Mexico Highlands won the RMAC regular season baseball crown and are ranked seventh in the country. NMHU scored runs in every other inning starting with two in the first on their way to an 18-4 opening round victory over Regis.

The Ranger baseball team did not want to head into postseason by losing their last two games of the regular season but that is exactly what happened. The first game went extra innings with the Lopers winning 10-9 and taking the nightcap 11-8.

Associate Athletic Director Ann Martin Tabbed as Next Regis Athletic Director
Regis University President Fr. Michael Sheeran, S.J. announced the hiring of Ann Martin as the next director of athletics. Martin replaces longtime Regis Athletic Director Barbara Schroeder who will be retiring in June. Martin has been on the Regis athletic administration staff since 2005.

The Regis Rangers dropped yet another one-run game this time to Colorado Mines by a score of 7-6, dropping to 3-9 in one-run games. Regis fell behind 7-1 after four innings but were able to crawl back into it before Colorado Mines was able to hold off the Rangers.

Regis and Colorado Mines Announce Baseball Game Changes Due to Weather
With a massive springs storm looming over Colorado there have been changes made to the Regis-Colorado Mines baseball series planned for this weekend. Friday night's game has been cancelled and the schedule now has a 3:00 p.m. game on Saturday and a doubleheader on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. All games are scheduled on the campus of Colorado Mines.

Senior J.T. Putt received unanimous RMAC All-Academic First Team honors while nine other Rangers received honors as well. Seniors Patrick Farrell, Eric Anderson, and Zach McBeth; junior Aaron Salvucci; and sophomores Charlie Henderson, Steve Falconi, Mike McElreath, Kyle Mack, and Joey Wheeler all joined Putt on the All-Academic Teams.

Errors Prove Costly for Regis in Losses to CSU-Pueblo
Regis and CSU-Pueblo played one inning of baseball to finish up the halted game due to darkness from the previous day in Denver before their regularly scheduled game in Pueblo. A late homerun by senior J.T. Putt, his third of the game, closed the gap to 14-13 but that was as close as Regis could get in the first game.

The final home games of the careers of the Regis seniors didn't go as they wanted as they fell 6-5 to CSU-Pueblo in the first game and trailed 14-12 in the second game before darkness halted it after six innings.

Regis Falls Twice to Mavericks
After falling to Mesa State by one run on Friday, 7-6, Regis fell by one again on Saturday in game one, 5-4, before succumbing to the Mavericks 6-2 in game two. The Rangers took a two run lead in both games but were unable to hold onto it either time eventually dropping both games to Mesa State.

After five straight home games, the Rangers traveled to Grand Junction where they fell 7-6 to the Mesa State Mavericks on Friday. With two runs each in the first, fourth, and eighth, Regis fell short one run after being unable to post any runs in the ninth.

The Regis Ranger baseball team jumped out to a 9-0 lead after six innings but a late rally by Nebraska-Kearney put a scare into the Rangers but they held on for a 9-7 victory. The three-game series was originally slated to be played in Kearney, but because of snow still on their field the series was moved to Regis.

Softball has canceled all games scheduled for this weekend, while baseball has canceled its Saturday doubleheader with Hastings College. Sunday's cold and snowy weather has forced the Regis baseball team to cancel its doubleheader today with the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks. The Rangers and UNO were able to get two games in yesterday, both won by UNO by scores of 10-9 and 11-4. The games will not be made up.

On a day when some people in the nation are bracing for two-feet of snow the Regis Ranger baseball team were welcomed by 70-degree weather in Phoenix, Ariz. The Rangers were not however welcomed by the Grand Canyon Antelopes who took the opening game of 2010 for both teams 11-6.

On October 22nd, the Regis University Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) teamed up with CHOICES and SIC to host the first ever Gatorade Pong Tournament. With cooperative weather, great team costumes, a delicious BBQ and lots of swag, the tournament was an overall hit.

Regis seniors J.T. Putt and Jesus Arzaga were both named to the Division II Preseason National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-America First Team. Regis was the only team in the country to land two players on the first team.

Regis Ranger Baseball Winter Camps Dates and Times Announced
Regis University Head Baseball Coach Dan McDermott announced today the dates of the 2009-10 Regis Ranger Baseball Winter Camps. Annual baseball camps have been a fixture at Regis University for over thirty years.
