Regis Musters Just Six Hits in Season-Ending 13-3 Loss to CSU-Pueblo at RMAC Tournament

Kearney, Neb.: The Regis Ranger baseball team ended their season today mustering only six hits in a 13-3 loss to CSU-Pueblo at the RMAC Tournament. 

CSU-Pueblo (23-23) jumped out early scoring three runs in the first, two more in the second and one in the third to put the game out of reach.  Regis (15-29) put two on the board in the third inning on a single by senior J.T. Putt and an error by Eric Bloom that scored senior Jesus Arzaga.

The Regis cut the lead to 6-3 in the eighth inning but the Thunderwolves were able to capitalize in the bottom half of the eighth by scoring six runs to make the final 13-3.

Sophomore Mike McElreath came in for three innings for Regis no hitting the Thunderwolves while striking out five.  Sophomore Steve Falconi (3-7) was saddled with the loss allowing seven runs and nine hits in four innings on the mound.

Sophomore Ryan Eustice and Arzaga, the Rangers 1-2 batters, had two hits apiece while Putt and sophomore Dave Holland chipped in with one.  Putt had two RBIs for the Rangers on the single and a sacrifice fly.
