Rangers Place Five on All-RMAC Teams; Farrell and Henderson Named to First Team

Colorado Springs, Colo.: Regis placed seven outstanding student-athletes on the 2010 RMAC baseball all-conference teams. Patrick Farrell and Charlie Henderson was tabbed to the first team, while , J.T. Putt, Alex Haag and Bryant Asnicar earned second team.  Third team members for Regis included Jesus Arzaga and Max Regalado.

Batting .399 this season, eighth best in the conference, was senior catcher Patrick Farrell. His .935 slugging percentage is second best in the RMAC while his .465 on base percentage ranks him tenth. Farrell, from Cheyenne, Wyo., is tied for fifth with 54 RBI's, tied for first with 20 home runs, tied for tenth with 14 doubles, and has 129 total bases this season, which is the third best mark in the conference.

Sophomore starting pitcher Charlie Henderson had a 4.32 ERA which ranks him third among other RMAC pitchers. With 89.2 innings pitched this season Henderson leads the RMAC and has struck out the fifth most batters in the conference this season with 53 strikeouts. He is tied for ninth with five wins this season.

Three Rangers were named to the All-RMAC Second team this season. One of those players is senior outfielder J.T. Putt who is batting .344 for Regis this season and ranks tenth among other RMAC players with his .642 slugging percentage. A native of Evergreen, Colo., Putt has 41 RBI's this season, 13th in the conference, and is sixth with 11 home runs. He has 97 total bases this season which places him 13th in the RMAC and is tied for sixth with six sacrafice bunts.

Alex Haag, received second team honors at designated hitter, although he has also spent some time in left field and started a lot of the season at first base for the injured Chris Steinbeck.  The Parker, Colo. native also appears in numerous RMAC offensive categories. He is eighth in slugging percentage (.657), 12th in on base percentage (.457), tied for tenth in home runs (9), and is ninth in walks (24). He is batting .358 this season.

Also receiving second team honors is right handed pitcher Bryant Asnicar. He leads the Rangers with a 2.05 ERA and is tied for third in the RMAC with three saves, 18 appearances, and 18 games in relief. 

Shortstop Jesus Arzaga and right fielder Max Regalado both received third team honors this season. Arzaga is batting .348 for the Rangers and is tied with Regalado for the fifth most doubles in the conference (17). He leads the RMAC after being hit by 18 pitches this season, is tied for 13th with 46 runs scored, 13th with 196 plate appearances, and is tied for ninth in sacrafice bunts (6). 

Regalado is 14th in the conference for slugging percentage (.604) and is batting .360 this season. He has 24 RBI's and has hit five homers this season.

The Rangers prepare for their first round RMAC matchup with #1 seed New Mexico Highlands on Wednesday afternoon.
