Changes Abound for Weekend Baseball, Softball and Lacrosse Events at Regis

Denver, Colo.: With remnants of the foot of snow that fell on the Denver Metro Area on Wednesday and the threat of more weather this weekend the Regis Athletic Department has made changes to its home events this weekend.

The Regis baseball team has cancelled their Friday afternoon contest with Metro State.  Tentatively, the two teams will still play their doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. either at the Regis field or at Metro State.  On Sunday, the two teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Regis field.

The Ranger softball team has moved their games to Sunday and Monday rather than the Saturday-Sunday schedule.  Sunday's doubleheader will begin at 12:00 p.m., while Monday's first pitch is set for 11:00 a.m.

The Regis lacrosse team will be hosting the "Rock the Rockies" event scheduled for Saturday to begin at 9:30 with a youth clinic.  Local bands and local lacrosse teams will be playing.  The event is still scheduled to take place on the Regis practice fields but if the fields are unplayable the events will be moved into the Regis Fieldhouse and Ranger Dome.  The event is free but donations will be accepted and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the University of Colorado Cancer Center and cancer research.

Regis has also cancelled the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) National Student-Athlete Day events that were scheduled to start Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.

For more information on the lacrosse "Rock the Rockies" please contact Regis head coach Sarah Kellner at saverson@regis.edu or at 303-964-3681.
