Regis Baseball Senior Patrick Farrell Tabbed RMAC Offensive Player of the Week
Colorado Springs, Colo.: Rangers senior catcher Patrick Farrell was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance last week.
Farrell, from Cheyenne, Wyo., batted .579 (11-19) from the plate with four homeruns and nine RBIs. He also scored seven runs and did not strike out once in helping the Rangers to a 3-2 record last week.
Against Colorado Christian on Wednesday, he went 4-for-4 with two homeruns and six RBIs. He also scored three runs and had a double in the Rangers 12-6 defeat of the Cougars.
Farrell who plays both at catcher and designated hitter leads the Rangers and the RMAC with eight homeruns. He also paces the Rangers in batting average (.420), hits (29), doubles (7), RBIs (26), and slugging pct. (.870). He is even better at the plate when Regis has runners on base. He is 20-for-42 (.476) with runners on while hitting 9-for-27 (.333) when they are empty.
Regis, 9-8 overall, plays Metro State today at 3:00 p.m. in a non-conference tilt while this weekend they travel to Grand Junction to take on Mesa State Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
