Sophomore Pitcher Charlie Henderson Named RMAC Pitcher of the Week
Colorado Springs, Colo.: Sophomore right-hander Charlie Henderson was named the RMAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for his outstanding efforts last week in a Regis 6-1 victory over Colorado Christian.
Henderson, from Centennial, Colo., threw his second complete game in a row allowing just one earned run while striking out eight Cougar batters. He scattered five hits and in his last two games, both wins, he has a 0.50 ERA and has struck out 15 batters.
On the season, Henderson is third on the team and first amongst starting pitchers with a 4.24 ERA which is also third in the RMAC. His four wins are tied for fifth in the RMAC and lead all Ranger pitchers while his 57.1 innings pitched are third most in the conference. He is second on the squad with 32 strikeouts and has walked just 14 batters.
Henderson and the Rangers will host 14th-ranked New Mexico Highlands (25-6, 15-3 RMAC) this weekend in a four-game series. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon at the Regis Baseball Field.
