Ten Rangers Receive RMAC All-Academic Honors; Putt Grabs Unanimous First Team Selection

Colorado Springs, Colo.: Senior J.T. Putt received unanimous RMAC All-Academic First Team honors while nine other Rangers received honors as well. Seniors Patrick Farrell, Eric Anderson, and Zach McBeth; junior Aaron Salvucci; and sophomores Charlie Henderson, Steve Falconi, Mike McElreath, Kyle Mack, and Joey Wheeler all joined Putt on the All-Academic Teams.

Putt holds a 3.94 GPA in Business. He is batting .333 this season with 10 doubles and seven homeruns and has brought in 30 RBIs. He has recorded just ten strikeouts this season while working pitchers to draw 13 walks.

Farrell, an All-Academic First Team honoree, is majoring in Exercise Science/Biology and holds a 3.43 GPA. Leading the Rangers, Farrell has a .399 batting average with 14 doubles and 20 homeruns. He has batted in 54 runs this season for Regis.

Receiving second team honors are Eric Anderson and Zach McBeth. Anderson is majoring in Business Administration and has compiled a 3.83 GPA. He has made eight appearances on the hill for the Rangers and pitched 13.1 innings. Anderson holds a 5.40 ERA. McBeth is a Biochemistry major with a 3.63 GPA. He has made three appearances for Regis and holds a 5.19 ERA. 

Salvucci has a 3.40 GPA in Business Administration and was named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll Team. He has played in 14 games for the Rangers this season and has hit one double.

Henderson has compiled a 3.37 in Economics to also be placed on the Honor Roll Team. He has made 11 appearances on the mound for Regis this season and has recorded four wins. Henderson has pitched 72.2 innings this season and struck out 45 batters while walking just 19.

Falconi, placed on the Honor Roll Team, is a Biology major with a 3.40 GPA. With 51.2 innings pitched he holds a 6.27 ERA and has recorded three wins. While fanning 39 batters, the second best mark on the team, he has walked just 17. McElreath was also named to the Honor Roll team as he holds a 3.32 GPA in Accounting and Math.  McElreath has been on the mound for 24.2 innings this season and has made ten appearances.

Also on the Honor Roll team, undecided on a major, with a 3.68 GPA is Mack. He has pitched 5.2 innings this season and has made two appearances. The last Honor Roll member is Wheeler, also undecided, who holds a 3.60 GPA. He has played in three games this season.

For a student-athlete to qualify for placement on one of the All-Academic Teams he must have a 3.30 GPA or better, be a starter or reserve, and have completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at the institution in which he is currently enrolled. GPA's listed above have been earned prior to season starting.
